BORRILLO INNOCENZO1

Torroni Baci was started in 1891. Created by confectionery craftsman Innocenzo Borillo at a small confectionery workshop in the village San Marco of Naples.
Those days nougat was available only in classic white, Mr. Borillo researched based on trials and errors, he coated finely cut high-quality almonds and hazelnuts with caramel and then covered them with Belgian high-quality dark chocolate to invent the ground-breaking Torone.
This “New nougat” quickly caught people's attention, and San Marco became well-known globally as “Land of Torroni Baci”.
In 1898, Borillo was awarded “Legion d'Onoere” by France, and the title of cavaliere (Order of Merit in Japan) for his achievements by the Italian Government.
At present, the grandson of the third generation Innocenzo has inherited the name Borrillo, and all processes are carried out manually by craftsmen at the same workshop that was set up during establishment
Mr Borillo says.
“We cannot manufacture large quantities. Each one is prepared with love, and I want people who taste our products to understand this point”.
The exquisite harmony of aromatic almonds and hazelnuts, and bitter chocolate that suppresses the sweetness continues to fascinate many fans as a taste that cannot be forgotten after eating once.
